I just received my snuff chukka boot sent to Australia from Blkbrd and honestly, they are perfect.
First when I ordered them, as a first time customer I was contacted by text message to confirm my size by actually sending instructions on measuring my feet length and width to confirm my size and discuss the last and how they would fit.
The shoes were made to order, and arrived in around 3-4 weeks using DHL express. The showed were in a very sturdy shoe box however it was damaged/creased in the post. I’m not big on holding onto boxes so it didn’t bother me too much but some people would like the box to be pristine.
The shoes were delicately wrapped in tissue paper, each inside quality shoe bags and a spare set of leather insoles and a beautiful premium shoe horn was provided.
The suede on the shoes was beautiful, supple and had no imperfections. The hand welting perfect and the finish to the edging amazing. What you would get on shoes 3-4 times as much. Even my Carmina’s which were my favorite shoe were no match for the finish on these boots.
The leather lining of the shoes is supple and soft. They are true to size and fit me perfectly without rubbing anywhere.
The last on these shoes with the chisel toe (Bentley last) is gorgeous. The stacked heal the perfect height and the vibram soles perfect for any weather or ground conditions.
One suggestion, I would like to see an option where you can choose between leather soles or rubber, though. In this case I would have gone with the vibram but an option is a good feature when made to order for customers including for taps.
5 out of 5 for my first pair. I think I have found my new shoe company.
